Heading out to Minneapolis for the Starkey Foundation’s Awards Gala next week

The Starkey Foundations is the premier group for helping the world by delivering hearing aids and hearing protection information. It’s a great organization and they really do a lot of good work across the world.

I’ll be attending the Annual Awards Gala next week which means that sadly I’ll be missing Comic Con in Sand Diego. That means That means that you are all going to have to catch me up when I get back. If it’s anything like The anaheim comic con then it should be pretty fun. Enjoy everyone!

I’m gonna need to practice my long game

Last night I learned a valuable lesson… do not play against the British at a game that they invented (British, Scottish… whatever). All I know is that even though I’m playing an electronic game I feel like these guys have an inborn ability to crush people at golf. From now on we’ll have to stick to Red Dead Redemption, a game about an American Pastime… being a Cow Boy.

Big ups to MrXile and NixonMike again, those two deserve an award for their amazingness.

It was a pleasure this weekend to be a part of the Steve Garvey Celebrity Softball Classic

Over the weekend I took part in a Celebrity Softball game put on by Steve Garvey in order to help raise money and awareness for Lou Gherrig’s disease (Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis). It was a heck of a great day at Pepperdine and there were plenty of people that came out to take part in the event. Steve Garvey, Carl Weathers, Jose Canseco, Pete Rose, Tommy Lasorda and Maury Wills and plenty of other famous-types were on hand to help bring in money to help fight this disease.

Above is a picture with me and the great Pete Rose, gotta love it!

Battle Tag – Looks pretty… I don’t know

Just when you thought Lazer Tag was out, it looks like they made a brand new version of it complete with health and ammo packs.

This could be fun. But I would love to see what they could do if they had sniper rifles in the mix. You could hang out on the roof picking people off like a pro. Or even grenades and knives. THEN it would be a cool game. As of right now it kinda looks like Laser Tag 2. Is this the way that video games are going?

What if basketball was more like soccer?

I love basketball and I love soccer, but when you think about it… they’re pretty different sports. The scoring, fields of play, and the use of hands/feet. At the same time they also share a lot of things like flopping, and hustling (both soccer and basketball players are running a lot). But what if basketball was more like soccer? What if you watched a 60 minute game with where no one scored most of the time? It would be mindblowing especially when you think that the average B-Ball game score is like 100 to 100.

Okay everyone, where do YOU think LeBron is going?

Since he became a free agent on the 1st, Lebron’s been taking meeting with the Bulls, the Heat, the  Knicks, the Nets, the Clippers and even his old team Cavs. We all know about his clode relationship with Jay-Z and the crazy amount of money that the Nets are probably prepared to throw at him to kick start a Jersey Basketball renaissance. Knowing this, where do you think LeBron is going to play next year?

My money is on the Nets. It just sounds like too sweet a deal for LeBron to pass up, he can be the Keystone in the creation of a Basketball team with no funding limit (at least that’s what it feels like). I think that maybe when you get to the level that LeBron is at , maybe money isn’t as important as branding. In the end, who knows. I guess we’ll all find out tomorrow.

John Marston ain’t got nothin’ on me!

Once again I had the best time playing Red Dead Redemption with my posse. You know, when I get together with my friends in real  life and try to bust up a gang of horse rustlers it just isn’t the same as when I play with you all on PS3.  As always everyone, it was a blast, sorry for the last minute game with no notice (4th of July lag on my part).

Look forward to some Tiger Woods next week and for the video of last night to be up on later this week.

Peace!

Everyone have a good 4th of July, Happy Birthday USA

This one goes out to all my fellow countrymen (and women) in The U.S.A. Have a happy 4th of July and celebrate responsibly, not like everyone who rioted in L.A. when the Lakers won the finals. Whatever you end up doing just make sure you spend your time with the people you care about. and if you happen to pass a soldier in uniform, maybe give the guy a nice handshake. See you all on Tuesday!

LeBron, Jay Z and Mikhail Prokhorov had a meeting. What do you think they talked about?

So LeBron is a free agent and buddies with Jay Z who is part owner of  the New Jersey Nets along with Mikhail Prohorov. And the these three gentlemen just had a meeting in Cleveland and you can bet your tuhkus that they’re discussing the possibility of getting LeBron to New Jersey. How crazy is that going to be? Could this be the beginning of a Yankees-type dynasty?

I’ll be honest, I just like to imagine the conversations that went on around that desk.

Jay Z – “We want you to play for New Jersey”

LeBron – “Will I get a lot of money?”

Mikhail – “Oooooooh yes”

LeBron – “Cool”

Gaming With Verne – Red Dead Redemption

Find more videos like this on Verne Troyer’s Looking Up

I can’t remember the last time I had so much fun playing a game with people online. Red Dead Redemption is about the most enjoyable team-based game experience I think you can have right now.

In fact, I liked playing with you guys so much that I’m pretty sure I’m going to be playing Red Dead again next Monday for Gaming With Verne. Tell your friends and your friends friends so we can set up a huge posse of cowboys, like an army of John Marstons! See you all then, partners!
