These people built an underwatter Bubble Room. I think that’s cool.
Saw Scott Pilgrim over the weekend, got to say I liked it.
I’ve never read any of the Scott Pilgrim comic books, but I liked all of the trailers I saw before it came out. And despite everyone jumping off the Michael Cera wagon I still like the guy. So I went to go see the movie over the weekend and I have to say that it won me over. I get that it’s kind of a goofy idea for a movie, a guy has to fight all the exes of his new girlfriends, but when you think about it, since when do people break in to song with choreographed dance numbers in real life? Parts of this movie you have to take with a grain of salt, but once you get in to the mood of the movie it becomes much more fun and entertaining.
Overall, I liked the movie; it was light and goofy and fast-paced. Perfect for a summer action/comedy. I’d see it again.
Gaming With Verne – Choose your own adventure. Kane and Lynch 2 VS Rainbow 6 Vegas 2
For the first time ever I’m going to let you guys choose what game you want to play tonight. Either it’s going to be Rainbow 6 Vegas 2 or Kane and Lynch: Dog Day.
I just got both of them in the mail and I don’t know what you guys are more interested in, so choose wisely on Facebook and let me know what we’ll start with, we can always check them both out!
Mea Culpa about the Gaming With Verne Last Night!
I wish I could know way ahead of time when I’m not going to make a GWV Night. Last night was one of those times I just couldn’t stick to my schedule. Sorry everyone. I was impressed, though, that so many people were interested in playing Modnation Racers. If I thought that many people were going to be pumped about it I would’ve suggested it earlier.
Well, we’re for sure playing it next week. And I’ll see you all there, believe it ! (or don’t… I may have something going on that day!)
Have a Great Weekend, Everyone… And help me my donating to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Cancer Society
Just a reminder before the weekend to everyone that we’re still accepting donations for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Cancer Society and the new event happening in your area, Light the Night Walks. I hiope that you can take part or at the least donate what you can to the wonderful organization.
On that inspiring not, I hope you all have a great weekend and I’ll see you back here next week. Have a good one!
Heading out to Minneapolis for the Starkey Foundation’s Awards Gala next week
The Starkey Foundations is the premier group for helping the world by delivering hearing aids and hearing protection information. It’s a great organization and they really do a lot of good work across the world.
I’ll be attending the Annual Awards Gala next week which means that sadly I’ll be missing Comic Con in Sand Diego. That means That means that you are all going to have to catch me up when I get back. If it’s anything like The anaheim comic con then it should be pretty fun. Enjoy everyone!
What if basketball was more like soccer?
I love basketball and I love soccer, but when you think about it… they’re pretty different sports. The scoring, fields of play, and the use of hands/feet. At the same time they also share a lot of things like flopping, and hustling (both soccer and basketball players are running a lot). But what if basketball was more like soccer? What if you watched a 60 minute game with where no one scored most of the time? It would be mindblowing especially when you think that the average B-Ball game score is like 100 to 100.
Okay everyone, where do YOU think LeBron is going?
Since he became a free agent on the 1st, Lebron’s been taking meeting with the Bulls, the Heat, the Knicks, the Nets, the Clippers and even his old team Cavs. We all know about his clode relationship with Jay-Z and the crazy amount of money that the Nets are probably prepared to throw at him to kick start a Jersey Basketball renaissance. Knowing this, where do you think LeBron is going to play next year?
My money is on the Nets. It just sounds like too sweet a deal for LeBron to pass up, he can be the Keystone in the creation of a Basketball team with no funding limit (at least that’s what it feels like). I think that maybe when you get to the level that LeBron is at , maybe money isn’t as important as branding. In the end, who knows. I guess we’ll all find out tomorrow.
Everyone have a good 4th of July, Happy Birthday USA
This one goes out to all my fellow countrymen (and women) in The U.S.A. Have a happy 4th of July and celebrate responsibly, not like everyone who rioted in L.A. when the Lakers won the finals. Whatever you end up doing just make sure you spend your time with the people you care about. and if you happen to pass a soldier in uniform, maybe give the guy a nice handshake. See you all on Tuesday!
Mankind’s greatest hits all under one guy’s roof
The Ted Talks are basically the smartest people in the world getting together in one place and being super intelligent around each other for a couple of day at a time. It’s like the NBA All-Star game for nerds. This is a video from one of their talks where a Jay Walker shows off his private library and basically lets everyone know how insanely rich and brilliant he is.
In the library you’ll find:
- A Sputnik. A real, Russian Sputnik satellite prototype
- An original-print Chaucer
- An experimental jet airplane built by NASA
- A Raptor skeleton
- A Nazi Enigma code machine
- The imagination of humanity
Check out the TED site for more mind-blowing videos.
